First Robotics Competition (FRC)

First Robotics COMPETITION (FRC) is an international robotics competition held from January to May where teams are given a set of tasks to complete by building a robot which complies within First Robotics’ constraints for the season. Teams of high school students work with their coachEs and mentors to make a robot capable of competing in that season’s game.

However, FRC is more than just robots competition. FRC has a unique culture and INSTILLS core values in participants. “Gracious Professionalism” embraces the competition and respect for other teams and rejects trash talk and DISCOURAGEMENT. “Coopertition” emphasizes that teams can cooperate and compete at the same time. The goal of FRC is to inspire students to be STEM leaders.

In addition to on-field competition, teams and team members compete for awards recognizing entrepreneurship, creativity, engineering, industrial design, safety, controls, media, quality, community outreach, and exemplifying the core values of the program.
